Hiring Department:   University Counseling Center
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $75,000.00+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt 
Benefits:  Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long-term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; additional hours as needed to fulfill duties

The mission and purpose of the University Counseling Center is to promot diversity and empower all students to reach their fullest potential while providing challenging self-growth opportunities through a full-range of therapeutic interventions and training opportunities.
 

  • Provide direct mental health services to students seeking assistance at UND Counseling Center and complete appropriate documentation.  
    • Conduct mental health intake interviews, assessments, therapy and treatment planning, and group therapy 
    • Collaborate with Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, Student Health Services, area treatment providers, and campus departments as needed
    • Serve as a resource for the campus community regarding issues related to  mental health and clinical services
  • Administration & Data Management
    • Responsible for day to day operations of clinical services at UCC
    • Responsible for building structure of UCC clinical services and overseeing structure
    • Responsible to assist all staff at UCC for clinical service questions
    • Lead UCC in any clinical service changes or updates as necessary
    • Assist with clinical service updates for policy and procedures
    • Provide direct line supervision for clinical mental health staff  and administrative support staff
    • Train and assist new staff in regards to UCC clinical operations and policy and procedures 
    • Create and monitor ongoing data collection to ensure quality oversight of UCC.
  • Provide consultation, conduct seminars, workshops, and other educational programs for UND students, faculty, and staff.
    • Develop and present mental health workshops for faculty, staff, and students
    • Continue to conceptualize and assistn UCC to develop programs, which will best serve student population groups
    • UCC program development
    • Serves as a resources for the UND campus community and greater Grand Forks community discussing mental health services.
  • Professional activities and professional development
    • Attend weekly UCC staff meetings to conduct businees
    • Attend weekly UCC case conferences to present and discuss client cases to insure quality services
    • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to individual interest and UCC responsibilities in order to keep current in the field.
    • Maintain License to practice.
  • Provide supervision to students in training at UCC.
    • Direct supervision of the clinical caseload for students in training.
    • Assist students in orientation at UCC.
    • Additional duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements
:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience working with college-aged population in a counseling center
  • Licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to provide clinical counseling services in the state of ND within six months of employment with UND.
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check
