POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for making minor slot machine repair, assisting with machine moves and installs, assisting video attendants with jackpot payouts and hopper fills, resolving minor customer complaints and providing quality customer service on the casino gaming floor. In all interactions, the position is responsible for making STAR service to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides exceptional, STAR Service to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

•           Performs the position-specific STAR service expectations, as outlined by the department.

Provides general and preventive maintenance of slot machines during their assigned shift.

  • Locate and fix minor to intermediate problems in slot machines and related equipment.
  • Responds to repair calls on the gaming floor.
  • Replace TI/TO paper in slot machines throughout the gaming floor.
  • Repairs and cleans slot machine parts and equipment.
  • Able to operate both hand tools and power tools.

Assists with slot machine installs, moves and conversions throughout the casino gaming floor.

  • Assists with set up and installation of new slot machines.
  • Assists with the relocation of slot machines on the casino gaming floor as necessary.
  • Assists with slot machine conversions on the casino gaming floor.

 

Read and run reports from the slot accounting system.

  • Locates system communication problems through the use of a computer with various screens, functions and reports.
  • Verify and resolve slot machine and ticket in/ticket out information.

Assists video attendants and verifiers in performing their assigned duties and tasks.

  • Process and pay jackpots.
  • Process and fill slot machine hoppers.
  • Verify jackpot/hoper fill forms for completeness and accuracy against slot machine information.
  • Override jackpot and hopper fill discrepancies after verification and correction.

 

Prepare and complete required paperwork for some slot department functions.

  • Performs countdowns and transfers.
  • Process diagnostics report for override jackpot/fill tickets.

Provide prompt and courteous customer care throughout the casino.

  • Listens and responds to guest concerns.
  • Describe game features and assist customers by explaining game or other pertinent information.
  • Resolve minor customer disputes.
  • Refer customers and guests to appropriate department or authority for issue resolution.

Perform all duties and tasks assigned by slot shift supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school graduate with at least one high school course in electronics or computers / or a minimum of a high school diploma and two years experience working with electronic devices, computers, or as a slot video attendant.   

Certificates, Licenses & Designations

Gaming license required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of basic math.

  • Knowledge of slot machine operation.
  • Knowledge of electronics.
  • Knowledge of casino promotions and activities.
  • Skill in maintaining positive relationships with associates and customers.
  • Skill in converting different denominational credits to dollars and cents.
  • Skill in trouble shooting techniques.
  • Skill in telephone techniques.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with slot machines.
  • Ability to understand accounting system information and reports.
  • Ability to interpret slot machine data.
  • Ability to communicate needs and machine problems to vendors.
  • Ability to stand; walk for long periods of time, bend and stoop.
  • Ability to lift/move 100 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to follow procedures and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk and hear clearly.
  • Ability to use fingers and hands to grasp, feel, control and operate test equipment and work related objects.

  • *Shift differential of additional $1.25/hr for swing and night shift and an additional weekend differential of $1.25/hr. Requirements based on position. Available for hours worked after a team member completes their 90-day probationary time frame.
