The Position:
This is 50% Associate Research Specialist position in the UWRF Survey Research Center. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interests and ability to implement data collection and processing ensuring accuracy, reliability, validity and timeliness of data collection and research report production. The Research Specialist will work under the supervision of the Director of the Survey Research Center (SRC) but, will be expected to work independently. Key duties include supervising and evaluating student workers, client relations, project management, and other tasks as assigned by the Director. Anticipated Appointment date: September 4, 2018.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
*30% - client relations: first contact with potential clients; clarification of survey objectives; developing project cost estimates and time-lines; on-going liaison with multiple on- and off-campus information users/survey clients; trouble-shooting problems with clients as they arise.
*25% - supervising and training: recruit and hire new student research workers; train and supervise student workers for a variety of survey tasks (survey logistics, data inputting and validation, statistical summaries); identify training needs, develop training materials, implement appropriate training; complete payroll; student evaluation and compensation recommendations.
*40% - project management: acquiring mailing lists; designing and implementing data collection and processing systems; office management; coordinating the work of SRC staff; ensuring the accuracy, reliability, validity and timeliness of data collection; producing and/or critiquing research reports; archiving project documents and reports; keeping the SRC's website current; managing fiscal aspects of survey projects


Qualifications Required:
*Bachelor's degree in a relevant social science field, Master's degree in relevant social science preferred.
*Minimum of 3 years of experience with survey research.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Supervisory and training & development experience
*Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

Qualifications Preferred:
*Experience with data scanning software preferred
*Experience working in an extension-oriented job.
