Job Information

This position manages content development for the Bobcat dealer channel. This includes annual and ongoing planning, aligning resources to execute plans, and working with internal stakeholders to develop strategic content that informs and educates dealers. Communication channels include but are not limited to email, web, video, online curriculum, webinar, classroom, in person and print.

Role & Responsibility

Research & Interviewing
  • Align with functional stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their operation’s impact on the dealer business.
  • Develop interview questions for subject matter experts.
  • Interview functional stakeholders and dealers to understand topic and impact to business and dealer.
  • Develop written content aligned to dealer content strategy as a result of interviews/research.

Communication Planning
  • Develop communication plans that inform and educate dealers in order to drive dealer engagement and performance.
  • Develop plans with recommended communication channels, timing, audience and messaging based on tool capabilities, experience, judgment, and input from dealer comm team and key stakeholders.

Content Development
  • Develop clear, objective-driven content that gains attention, creates interest, informs, educates and encourages action from dealers.
  • Vary writing style for the medium in which it will be delivered. This primarily includes writing for the web with content that is succinct, fact-filled, written in active voice, easy to read with sub-headings and bulleted lists, and includes embedded links throughout text. Other channels include but not limited to, email, video, webinar online curriculum and print.
  • Route drafted content through appropriate internal channels for approval.

Content Alignment
  • Work with functional counterparts to ensure message alignment and accuracy across all communication and training channels in the business.

Content Editing
  • Regularly edit content produced by other areas of the business to ensure it aligns with sound communication practices and dealer content strategy.
  • Align with team developing training curriculum to ensure alignment and accuracy across dealer-facing channels.

Agency Liaison
  • Work with marketing agencies to efficiently develop content and visual assets to communicate messages in the most engaging way.

Project Management
  • Develop schedules, tasks and plans to drive projects and communication plans forward.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable to agreed-upon tasks to ensure full projects are completed on time and within expectations of the business.

Prioritization and Execution
  • Manage business’s dealer communication needs in fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively prioritize various projects and initiatives.


Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Experience Required: 5>7 years
  • Travel Required:
  • Must know Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneDrive.
  • Exceptional B2B writing skills, including interviewing sources.
  • Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with ability to provide portfolio of work at the time of interview; Portfolio includes examples of content editing and development capabilities.
  • Takes initiative to proactively identify needs, process improvements and opportunities within the business/area of responsibility.
  • Actively seeks out new ideas and approaches.
  • Continuously monitors new trends related to own work area or discipline.
  • Challenges the status quo of products, technologies, services, work processes and systems. Encompasses basic business acumen.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills to ensure projects are managed and completed in a reasonable time frame.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills and is capable of self-direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and take direction in order to coordinate and project manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while engaging key stakeholders.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
