Typical Day in the Life

 

A typical day as an Administrative Assistant might include the following:

 
  • Answer phones with professionalism, greet clients and direct them to the correct person.
  • Work with spreadsheets, track data in a database, time record keeping and client maintenance.
  • Assist partners, managers and staff with all office activities (typing, faxing, scanning, copying).
  • Research information for partners, managers and staff using the internet and other resources.
  • Print and assemble final versions of tax returns for corporations, individuals, partnerships, nonprofit and financial institutions.
  • Electronically track and save returns according to Firm guidelines.
  • Format and proof financial statements, as well as binding final reports.
  • Review, sort and route incoming mail; distribute outgoing mail.
  • Open to new challenges and assist with special projects as requested.
  • Pick up additional administrative responsibilities when needed.

 

Who You Are

 
  • You thrive in a customer service oriented, high-volume, and fast-paced work environment.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You love collaborating and being part of a team but also enjoy working alone with limited supervision.
  • In addition to all of this, you have a high school diploma. Some marketing experience is preferred but not a requirement.

 

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
