About the Job
This is a full time(80 hrs/pp) evening position working 2:30pm-11pm every 5th weekend and holiday rotation.
Summary:
Will assist the Nurse Manager to complete resident/patient admissions and discharges. Assist the Nurse Manager to prepare and complete all necessary paperwork and complete all nursing assessments related to resident care. Responsible for monitoring and observing all residents. Provides proper documentation and follow-up including but not limited to diagnosis, lab, psychotropic monitoring compliance, MED, Informed Choice, TD, etc. Will assist the Nurse Manager on developing and updating resident care plans.
Scope: Provide assessment/data gathering of resident’s condition Provide supervision and direction to the Charge Nurse, Nursing Assistant/Registered and TMA’s. Actively fosters and supports an environment which promotes high quality resident care. Work closely with the resident and with various members of other departments such as activities, dietary, social services, chaplain, housekeeping, and other members of the nursing department. May have contact with the resident’s family.
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Requirements: Must be a graduate of a school of nursing and be licensed as an RN with Minnesota Board of Nursing. This includes having an original and current Minnesota License Number. Maintain his or her own competency with continuing education. Must have strong assessment skills, good organizational skills, and strong problem-solving skills. Must have an ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff who collectively possess a variety of personalities and backgrounds.
