PC Network Specialist
Minnkota Power Cooperative is seeking qualified candidates for the position of PC Network Specialist located at our corporate headquarters in Grand Forks, ND.
Responsible for placing safety and security as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and control of the assigned hardware, operating system software, security systems and file structures. Coordinates improvements, enhancements and upgrades. C onfigures, secures, supports and monitors internal and/or external networks. This position supports NERC CIP compliance by helping develop and apply policies, procedures and guidelines.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or other related area or equivalent combination of experience and education. Essential Responsibilities
Manages enterprise system infrastructure
  • Provides support to systems including day-to-day activities to ensure 24x7 availability.
  • Monitors and provides support and resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices
  • Provides detailed information for hardware/software enhancements for performance and reliability.
Network Design and Security
  • Design, document and implement systems, network configurations, network architecture, including software technology, site locations and integrations of technologies
  • Analyze, monitors and ensures network physical and cyber security
  • Implements change management procedures
Design, Testing and Evaluation of Systems
  • Assess with technical evaluation and implementation of systems
  • Patches and Maintenance of assets

Job Qualification Standards
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or other related area or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience
  • Experience preferred with Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Security Certification (GIAC), CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Experience preferred with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, MS Office
  • Experience preferred with systems administration including server side development, VMware, Microsoft Active Directory and server/storage systems hardware and architecture
  • Experience with network engineering principles and practices including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, EIGRP, SNMP, WAN technologies, VLANs and LAN switching and routing
  • Experience preferred in Operational Technology
  • Well-versed in installing windows, software, applications, antivirus, patching and change management
  • Able to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in working with end-users remotely
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to an office environment indoors, and will travel outdoors to multiple locations dependent on work.
