POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing payroll functions to assure all associates are paid correctly and timely. In all interactions, the position is responsible for making STAR service to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Provides exceptional, STAR Service to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

  • Performs the position-specific STAR service expectations, as outlined by the department.

 

Compiles payroll data, and enters data or computes and posts wages and reconciles errors to maintain payroll records using a computer

  • Monitors payroll data, such as pay increases, status changes and position changes.
  • Processes income verifications.
  • Calculates and enters retroactive pay.
  • Enters miscellaneous earnings in timecards such as tips, incentive pay, mileage, etc.
  • Enters miscellaneous deductions in Excel spreadsheet to upload for payroll for processing.
  • Verifies leave slips are signed by authorized personnel and records leave slips. 
  • Maintains employee withholding, ACH and voluntary deduction records in the payroll software.
  • Maintains Excel spreadsheets for declared and pooled tips and dual associate pay rates.
  • Maintains Excel spreadsheet for uniform and padlock deposits.
  • Process payroll accounts payable checks.

 

Maintains Kronos timekeeping software applications to record hours worked per employee/department.

  • Trains time verifiers to maintain timekeeping and scheduling for individual departments.
  • Verifies integrity of time clock entries
  • Supports timekeepers – troubleshoots oddities
  • Apply pay rules which are department specific and monitor transfers within the company.
  • Verifies and enters hire information from HR into Timekeeper people records.
  • Activates new hire biometric information at the time clock

 

Maintains boxed storage areas and computer storage to adhere to record retention requirements.

  • Maintains boxed storage area and current year records.
  • Maintains computer reports and storage of computer reports.
  • Maintains employee files.

 

Listens and responds to internal and external guest concerns to maintain guest satisfaction

  • Refers guests to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Post high school degree in Accounting or Business from a Vo-tech or Business School preferred:  or a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of payroll related experience:  or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses & Designations

Gaming license required.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of and skill in using a personal computer and related software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and timekeeping software.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply commonly accepted rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation in written communication to develop reports and summaries.
  • Skills in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Skill of receiving a message, understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guest expectations are met.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a group to make the work of the group successful and effective.
  • Ability to follow procedures and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry 10-15 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow direction and give attention to detail

  • *Shift differential of additional $1.25/hr for swing and night shift and an additional weekend differential of $1.25/hr. Requirements based on position. Available for hours worked after a team member completes their 90-day probationary time frame.
