Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State), Workforce Development Solutions Division, is accepting applications for a part- time/non-benefit eligible Welding Instructor.

Responsibilities:
* Teach theory instruction
* Clinical supervision
* Assess student outcomes
* Continued professional development
* Must be flexible to teach day, evening or weekend sections

Minimum Qualifications:
* Diploma in welding
* Occupational Experience Requirement:
* Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in welding.

Professional Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience as a welding instructor in an academic setting
* Understanding of students of diverse backgrounds
* Maintains professional skills and credentials
* Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
* Knowledge of active learning strategies
* American Welding Society Certified Welding Educator and Certified Welding Inspector
* Proficiency and ability to pass welding qualification tests in accordance to AWS, ASME and / or API
* Familiarity with all welding and cutting processes - SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, PAC and OFC
* Extensive knowledge of welding and cutting safety
* Proficiency in print reading and welding symbols
* Experience and knowledge with the development of welding training curriculum
* Limited travel required
