Position Overview
Digi-Key Corporation seeks a Vice President Global Supplier Management in Thief River Falls, MN to be responsible for the vision, strategy, planning, coordinating, and senior leadership of all activities related to the delivery of new and existing products and services for Digi-Key Corporation. The areas of responsibilities are inclusive of supplier management, product portfolio, asset management, cost/resale models, product management and area-specific reporting & analytics on a global scale.

Responsibilities

The overall objectives of this position include:

• Provide leadership through mid- and senior-level Managers and Directors and be accountable for the performance and results of diverse disciplines or corporate group;
• Develop annual Supplier Development & Product Management business plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives. Communicate functional and departmental strategy, effectively and timely, to the executive team, functional team and key internal and external partners;
• Prepare and manage overall Supplier Development & Management budget;
• Monitor and evaluate area specific performance dashboards and reports to deliver on area objectives;
• Provide leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements;
• Serve as point of contact for Executive Committee; face of Supplier Development & Management to the executive committee and all senior management;
• Alignment and awareness of the key goals and objectives of our supplier community while building senior management relationships and mutual support for our business model;
• Build, manage, and lead a team located across geographies; and
• Develop staff for all key areas including, product management, supplier management, asset management, and pricing models

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, Electronics or a related field or the foreign equivalent degree. We require 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a semiconductor purchasing management or supplier management role. The experience must include managing: international procurement and distribution, interdepartmental teams, contract negotiations, gross and net margins, gross profit contributions, managing global quoting and budgets. This role requires travel for business/planning reviews, trade shows, management support for staffing and review of opportunities to add to the supplier portfolio. Travel is global and could range from 20-30% of the total work time. Digi-Key Electronics main offices outside of the United States are in Munich, Germany and Hong Kong which would be about 5% of the travel time, the balance is mostly to domestic supplier locations.
