This position can be located in Fargo, ND, Bismarck, ND, or Sioux Falls, SD. This position requires minimum of 30-50% travel throughout our region of ND, SD, MN, WI, KS to support and manage Technical Trainers.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Training and Development Manager is responsible for directing, developing, and executing successful and comprehensive training, and quality assurance programs designed to support all facets of field operations. 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Travel to and support Technical Trainers as necessary.
  • Provide timely performance feedback and daily coaching. Perform annual reviews and effectively manage disciplinary and/or performance problems.
  • Consistently monitor performance for quality and coaching opportunities.
  • Set daily, monthly, and weekly goals designed to reach department expectations.
  • Lead, deliver, and monitor a successful, comprehensive training program designed to encourage and facilitate professional development. Review and revise key performance and learning indicators as necessary.
  • Promote a “continuous improvement” mentality, strategy, and atmosphere that offer employees opportunities for professional growth and development, while supporting optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Standardize training programs across regions and develop an effective training manual.
  • Translate defined objectives into effective work plans and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate training, swift resolution to problems, accurate transactions, and regular and accurate reports.
  • Identify, communicate, and reinforce best practices and designed behaviors; empower team members with the skills and information they need to succeed in their jobs.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between various departments including technology and customer service.
  • Foster positive communication within and across organizational boundaries; tap into employee knowledge and experience to improve processes and procedures, and to resolve problems.
  • Possess superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Maintain current, valid driver’s license and good to excellent driving record (DUI within the last 5 years disqualifies you for employment in this position).
  • Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midco’s “Use of Vehicle for Company Business” policy.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to Midco privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance to be available to provide direction and communication to team members.

  • Communicate with other departments to handle any escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Focus in Education, Business, or Communication preferred.
  • Two years experience in the telecommunications industry required.
  • Two years of training and curriculum development experience required.
  • Two years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 30 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • May be required to climb poles (with proper equipment), ladders, and other structures as necessary.
  • May be required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces as needed.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
