POSITION TITLE: Service Supervisor
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Service Operations Manager, Assistant Store Director, Store Director
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
To supervise the front-end functions to promote sales and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers and a safe and positive working environment for associates.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Emphasis in this position is on coordinating and assisting with daily supervision of front-end policies and procedures, cashier performance, labor control and customer relations. Primary challenge is to positively affect customer service levels and department labor, and productivity factors through efficient operation of the front end. This position is responsible for providing effective training, development and work direction for department associates. The position requires the ability to encourage individual and group effort toward department objectives, on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service, judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, reading, writing, math, computer skills, register/scanner operation, reading, light lifting, and standing. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. The Store Manager provides assignments and work direction.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Assist customers and ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates
Frequent: Physical - lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom), reaching, standing and turning
Mental - judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing and math
Occasional: Physical - lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., equipment operation
(calculator) squatting, stooping/bending and walking
Supervise the front end functions to ensure positive customer relations and accurate, prompt checkout

accordingly
- Ensure minimal waiting time for each customerEnsure correct product handling and scanning techniquesEnsure proper handling of all forms of tender and couponsEnsure proper handling of voids, refunds, and exchangesEnsure price checks and scan error forms completed as necessaryAuthorize check cashing and ensure standards Ensure front end cleanliness and organization to include filling bags and keeping front end clear of shopping cartsAdminister store audit policiesEnsure proper etiquette is used for telephone and intercom callsEnsure adherence to company policy including the handling tobacco, alcohol and lottery transactions
