Job Information

This position is actively involved on project teams in the new product or process development process and is responsible for identifying and driving improvements to the designs and processes of new or upgraded products or processes. This includes identifying improvement opportunities from current components and products, determining process capability, determining failure modes and effects, identifying critical characteristics, and working cross-functionally to ensure designs, specifications, and process are fully defined and supported by control plans that will monitor and ensure performance to specifications.

Role & Responsibility

Quality Governance
  • Work in area of responsibility to monitor and supply quality related information from internal and external sources.
  • Complete formal audits and assessments on products and processes.

New Product and Process Development
  • Actively participate and contribute to the project definition, planning, development and implementation phases for new or major revisions to products and/or processes.
  • Define and develop the project quality plan for each assigned project, and work with corresponding teams to execute elements of the quality plan.
  • Complete warranty assessments, define quality goals, complete component classifications, coordinate failure modes and effects analysis, contribute to design and process reviews, measure components and fixtures, complete capability assessments, develop control plans, and participate in prototype and pilot builds.

Control Plan Development
  • Define and implement error-proofing where possible into product design and processes.
  • Identify critical to quality characteristics, ensure the appropriate process and tools are developed and available to measure the critical to quality characteristics.
  • Develop or review and drive updates to standard work, processes, tools, measurements, checks, and training used to ensure complete and consistent work is performed.

Quality Capability Development
  • Identify opportunities, complete measurement systems analyses, procure measurement equipment, and implement process monitoring and controls capabilities that improve visibility to the health of our process, compliance to specifications, traceability, and accountability.


Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification strongly preferred
  • Sound understanding of engineering principles
  • Familiar with Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with root cause analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and planning skills
  • Knowledge and prior experience with company equipment, production processes, and engineering is desired
  • Minimum of 2 - 5+ years' experience

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
