Position Summary:

This position is accountable for managing a portfolio of small business loan and indirect leasing relationships ranging in loan relationship size up to $750,000, including reviewing new credit applications, proposing and negotiating lending solutions, underwriting credit risk through a credit scoring model, granting credit approval within prescribed level of loan authority, facilitating loan closing, and servicing booked loans. Contributes to effective risk management through ordering and execution of loan documentation and ongoing monitoring of customer-supplied information and collateral administration. May assist in training other credit personnel including jointly approving credits of other underwriters within prescribed level of loan authority.



Essential Responsibilities:

Job Function Number 1: Propose and negotiate small business loan product solutions, underwrite and decision applications. Communicate underwriting results with sales staff and customer.-50%
  • Receive and review all new small business loan applications from sales staff and indirect leasing companies.
  • Determine compliance of information provided to requirements. Work with sales team to effectively gather complete application needs.
  • Determine appropriate loan product to meet customer needs. Identify potential new lending opportunities and suggest solutions to sales team.
  • Underwrite and decision applications with use of credit scoring model.
  • Accurately assign risk rating.
  • Mitigate credit risk by use and understanding of SBA programs and documentation requirements when appropriate.
  • Communicate pricing options that achieve or surpass targets.
  • Negotiate and approve counter-offers.



Job Function Number 2: Provide credit administration by ensuring proper documentation and closing of loan transactions and conducting ongoing account monitoring.-45%
  • Determine and order collateral and loan documentation, and review for completeness.
  • Order accurate loan documents from Operations team.
  • Account for loan closing, including review of documentation and discussion of signature and document expectations with sales staff.
  • Provide ongoing administration of collateral perfection and documentation.



Job Function Number 3: Product Development and sales training.-5%
  • Seek to understand competitive pressures in local marketplace for small business loan product or pricing opportunities.
  • Work with Lead to determine any necessary product improvements or enhancements to increase product sale-ability or process efficiencies.
  • Regularly meet with sales staff to providing on-going product and process training.



Position Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years lending and loan documentation experience.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Customer management skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Physical Demands: (must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation)
  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately XX hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
