The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for effectively building and leading the BCBSND enterprise-wide data analytics function. This role builds, fosters, and maintains a data driven culture within the organization influencing the importance of managing, leveraging, and maximizing the use of data to strengthen core operations, improve member health, and empower stakeholders. This role collaborates with leaders and key constituents to establish a centralized analytics function and determines where and how to deliver the model enterprise-wide. Work includes streamlining core data analytics resources to one centralized function with diversified expertise and building an enterprise-wide support model supporting specific business functions based on internal expertise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Leads and guides staff in accomplishing work objectives within the unit. Coaches, motivates, rewards and recognizes subordinates. Sets clear goals and objectives, sets performance expectations and holds employees accountable for achieving results.
• Builds, creates and maintains enterprise-wide analyses, including dashboards and metrics.
• Partners with the business units to appropriately model business implications by proactively understanding and responding to their needs.
• Creates an analytics team support model that serves as a resource for divisional leadership to evaluate, analyze and forecast financial implications to support business decisions.
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify and maintain relevant data support solutions, partners with internal infrastructure leaders to ensure appropriate information architecture and financial systems are organized and maintained for proper data support.
• Defines and trains the organization on standard reporting solutions and tools, including benchmarking reports and desktop management dashboards.
• Partners with strategy leaders, research resources, and health data experts to support activities around predictive analytics and changes in the healthcare payment model environment.
• Prepares presentations that concisely communicates relevant findings and conclusions in a timely manner, while providing transparency into the methods used.
• Maintains regular, responsive, and timely communications with internal business partners to respond to all internal analytics needs and requests.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required: Bachelor's
Preferred: Master's

Field(s) of Study: Business, Accounting, Finance, IT, Healthcare, Statistics or related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required: Minimum of 7 Years
Preferred: Minimum of 8 Years

Experience Details: Minimum of 7 years of automated data analytics management, project management, financial forecasting, financial modeling or related experience is required, of which 5 years in a leadership role is required; candidate must demonstrate healthcare and financial acumen, use of data tools, experience in leading teams through change, strong leadership skills, and ability to drive and execute results in a complex cross functional matrix environment.
