Quality Supervisor Direct Hire Grand Forks

Kelly Services is looking for a Quality Supervisor- Must be able to travel to Canada

Functional Responsibilities
¿    Serves as the plant¿s SQF Practitioner.
¿    Creates, implements and maintains plant HACCP plan.
¿    Maintains plant GMP policy and provides yearly training.
¿    Oversees plant pest control program.
¿    Monitors product quality; reporting quality deficiencies and communicating with sales, customers and plant personnel regarding quality issues.
¿    Manages customer & supplier complaints.
¿    Implementing and maintaining the Hood Packaging Corporation Quality Management System
¿    Implementation and maintaining SQF Quality Management System.
¿    Identifying problems with goods, service processes, procedures and unmet training needs, taking corrective action to the root cause of the difficulty.
¿    Assist the management team in meeting quality goals and objectives.
¿    Reporting quality results monthly or more frequently if requested to the General Manager, Corporate Quality Manager, and Plant Manager.
¿    Evaluates and responds to customer documentation requests.
¿    Creates, implements and maintains regular manufacturing quality checks/audits in all departments, recording and reporting discrepancies in a timely manner.
¿    Performs other duties as assigned.
¿    Responsible for providing leadership, direction and resources for the SQF level three food safety and quality system in the North Region.

Managerial Responsibilities
¿    Assures the quality department¿s goals align with those of the company to provide maximum contribution.
¿    Monitors employee performance; discussing work-related issues with subordinates and taking action to improve skills.
¿    Provides supervision/coaching on quality processes with all employees.
¿    Reports to Plant Manager and Staff on performance of the Quality Management System on a regular basis.

¿    Available between all 3 shifts
¿    Speak to large groups

1.    QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
¿    High school diploma or GED
¿    5 years progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment.
¿    Certified SQF Practitioner
¿    HAACP certified

Skills
¿    Should have considerable skills in problem solving, administration, supervision, planning, communications, decision making and follow up.
¿    Proficient in MS Office
¿    Professional verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
¿    Good organizational, administrative and supervisory skills with consistent follow-up.
¿    Clear and understandable recordkeeping. 
¿    Projects strong, professional image to manufacturing employees as well as sales / customers.
¿    Proactive, taking ownership of the job and responsibilities, driving projects / issues to a conclusion.
¿    Ability to train and direct employees pertaining to quality standards and inspection procedures.
¿    Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, with ability to interface them with customer requirements to meet expectations.
