Hiring Department: Resource Planning & Allocation

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $60,000.00+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm


Position Details:

This position works to provide support for the institution:

  • in developing, tracking and monitoring data used in strategic planning, decision support, and institutional effectiveness efforts;
  • to assist units in interpreting data and trends to ensure effective and efficient management of resources;
  • to create and to assist with the maintenance of data analytic tools for specific units as well as the institution as a whole; and
  • to serve as a project manager in support of process improvement.

This position will also work collaboratively with units across the institution to coordinate their approach to data analysis, resource allocation, and improve utilization of data in their decision-making.

Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing strategic functional and analytical support for units within the incentive based budget model (MIRA) process by developing processes, policies, and reporting methods in support of MIRA, providing training and assistance to unit leaders and committees, interpreting data trends with changing metrics, and working with units to develop metrics to determine unit effectiveness
  • Data analytics and other decision support including collection, analysis, and reporting on data trends, verifying data, applying analytics to business questions, drawing conclusions  and communicating results, as well as calculator and tool development as needed.
  • Supporting initiatives as project manager including process improvement projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail with excellent follow through on tasks
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take complex information and/or large data sets and analyze them for data-based decision-making
  • Ability to work independently

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field with coursework in accounting, analysis, and scripting (e.g. economics, business, public administration, mathematics or related field)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, filters, grouping and subtotals, etc.)
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in a higher education setting
  • Project Management skills
  • Spreadsheet model development
  • Power BI experience
