Job Summary

The Supervisor Operations provides guidance, leadership, planning and reporting to appropriate individuals, oversees frontline staff, and works with Human Resources on staffing needs. This position provides guidance, resources, and support to ensure the business unit is administering the contract requirements while providing quality service, maintaining expectations, and ensuring performance metrics are all within time and budget constraints. This position promotes business unit collaboration to ensure cross-department efficiencies and communication occur.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Coaches, develops, and recognizes staff by encouraging growth and ensuring staff are meeting expectations.
  • Conducts performance management tasks such as recruitment of staff, monitoring staff performance, addressing performance issues, and providing feedback to further develop staff.
  • Ensures team quality and training program are effective.
  • Initiates process improvements such as innovative enhancements to operational processes or operational systems and technologies.
  • Leads by example by promoting team work, recognition, and leadership while demonstrating company values.
  • Responds to and implements change in a flexible, positive manner.
  • Serves as the area subject-matter expert to support responsiveness to our customers (internal and external).
  • Effectively communicates (verbally and written) accurate, concise information internally and externally.
  • Participates in budget process for area.
  • Maintains and provides a strong analytical understanding of the systems used to manage various lines of business and the interrelationships between teams on system usage.
  • Implements appropriate internal controls to ensure contractual obligations and performance standards are met.
  • Serves as a resource point for internal and external customers and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Supports the Operations Coordinator with training, developing, directing, and coaching staff.
  • May manage technical issues and technical projects.
  • May work with Information Technology (IT) staff, vendors, and multiple business partners.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 years' experience in Medicare or related business environment.
  • Strong PC skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate activities among team, problem solve, and develop problem solving skills in others.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a large group of people
  • Ability to direct and maintain a productive and conducive working environment
  • Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships within the workplace


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field
  • 3 years' experience in leadership
  • Knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations
  • Ability to create and conduct presentations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience and/or knowledge in technical or medical applications
  • Experience in large scale project management

  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
