Position Overview

The Order Fulfillment Specialist - Customer Additional Processing Sector (CAPS) are responsible for a variety of tasks associated with maintaining Digi-Key's stock quality and integrity as well as processing andfulfilling customers' orders .

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary daily based on job function to include the following: pick process, pack process, bar coding and customer support, product placement, inventory control.
Must be able to...
  • Pick parts in an assigned zone, quickly and accurately using I-Pick Scanner
  • Correctly record and log sales orders into CAPS
  • Processing DKR's orders
  • Prepackage product for bin/emergency stock
  • Inspect quality of the product before prepackaging
  • Perform packaging tasks which include:
    • Review pack lists to insure correct quantities
    • Verify correct parts have been picked
    • Box product and prepare for shipping
  • Cut tape and reel product into sale package quantities
  • Conduct inventory counts and update computer system to show correct quantity on hand
  • Assist in removal of obsolete and discontinued product
  • Analyze physical inventory records and resolve inventory count discrepancies
  • Identify and resolve any issues of mixed product in a storage location
  • Communicate with other areas of the business (i.e. Customer Service and Logistics) to resolve customers' orders
  • Interact with Customer Interaction Center software to be able to read and process through customer requests
  • Set stock and restock levels for storage locations
  • Conduct and complete inventory related projects as assigned
  • Perform tasks in multiple areas of the PDC

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be trained in PDC Pick and/or Pack function
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Basic computer navigation and typing skills
  • Ability to actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals
  • Ability to provide a positive, professional and enthusiastic outlook or perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task as well as the ability to change focus quickly based on requests by employees/management
  • Able to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motion
  • Capable of spending 8-10 hours walking/standing on concrete
  • Regularly lift up to 35lbs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs from floor to shoulder height
  • Regular and consistent attendance due to need to access physical equipment
  • Able to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs
