Job Summary

The HR Specialist provides coaching, advice and guidance to management with regards to employee conduct, discipline, performance management, and HR programs. This position plays a key role in supporting HR initiatives, recruitment, employee benefits, and compensation.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Coaches and advises assigned leadership by providing guidance on employee conduct and discipline, performance management, talent development, and other HR programs and policies.
  • Serves as a main point of contact regarding HR functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Partners in the strategic planning process for assigned areas.
  • Ensures compliance with legal regulations and employment law by demonstrating appropriate breadth and depth of human resources expertise including sharing and transferring skills with others.
  • Performs key components of recruitment and hiring processes for the full cycle such as posting positions, applicant screening, scheduling interviews, and other onboarding activities.
  • Assists in the administration of compensation and employee benefit programs.
  • Participates in, researches, and prepares materials for special projects.
  • Develops and maintains HR SharePoint site.
  • Facilitates new employee orientation, employee and leadership trainings, and others as assigned.
  • Provides statistical metrics and analysis of trends for the HR Division or assigned teams.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related field
  • 2 years' experience in human resources
  • Basic MS Office experience
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Proactive and effective critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task


Preferred Qualifications:
  • HR experience in recruiting, employee relations, learning and development, compensation and benefits
  • aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP (Associate Professional in HR)
  • Group presentation skills
  • Proficient or exceptional MS Office experience


Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands
  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
