Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $11.10/hour, Full-time, Benefited, Non-Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Normal shift 12:30pm-9pm Monday -Friday and rotating weekends

  • Cleans floors in the following areas:  kitchen, service areas, restrooms, storerooms, and dining rooms
  • Spot cleans the carpets in the dining rooms
  • Cleans carts, tables and chairs
  • Rinses and sanitizes garbage cans
  • Maintains orderliness of the storerooms coolers and freezers
  • Cleans and stocks rest rooms
  • Work with the preparation and disposal of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork and other meat products
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies which includes removal of all jewelry and piercings (plain wedding band is permissible) and wearing hair and beard restraints
  • Cleans floors in the following areas:  kitchen, service areas, restrooms, storerooms, and dining rooms

  • Removes refuse from the following areas of the dining center:  kitchen, service areas, restrooms, dining rooms, storerooms, and locker rooms
  • Assists the dish room staff with washing dishes and restocking dishware to the kitchen, service areas and dining room
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Will stand for 3-4 hours at a time and move 30-40lbs
  • Must be self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Will work in various temperatures
  • Will work with cleaning chemicals
  • Will use knowledge of materials and equipment used in custodial business to include by not limited to: Vacuum cleaner, dish machine, mop buckets, floor scrubber, carpet machine, rotating floor scrubber machine, cardboard bailer
  • Creates and sustains a work environment based on ethics, integrity, trust, and accountability.  
  • Serves as a role model to others in terms of setting the tone for acceptable behavior/conduct. 
  • Creates an inclusive work environment where others can motivate themselves to perform at their highest level. 
  • Treats others with dignity and respect at all times and fosters a sense of camaraderie and goodwill in dealing with others

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with general custodial cleaning and using cleaning chemicals
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Records Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in food service or health organization
  • Experience with inventory
  • NRA ServSafe Certified
