JOB SUMMARY

Plans, schedules, and implements quality radiology processes according to organizational quality standards. Consistently projects a friendly, cooperative impression and positive image of the institution when dealing with patients, employees, visitors, and medical staff members. Possesses excellent communication skills, positive and professional attitude, and establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships. Respects and maintains confidentiality of all verbal and written communications. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks. Flexible and rapidly response to and/or facilitates planned organizational changes. Demonstrates leadership qualities to provide direction and serve as a resource to staff and customers. Possesses self-direction with a high level of accountability and the ability to work with minimal to no supervision. Deals discreetly with sensitive confidential information. Oversees the maintenance and replacement program for all radiology equipment within Sanford. Coordinates professional accreditations and support state and federal requirements. Supports the Physicist in Radiation Safety operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop or monitor procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images. Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Promotes and ensures patient satisfaction while complying with safety and regulatory requirements Works to create a climate that values drive and initiative. Participate in quality improvement activities including discussions of areas where risk of error is high. Adheres to regulatory requirements when handling, storing and transporting radioactive materials. Maintains the quality of radiology services for radiation protection and patient safety. Monitors routine PACS operations, utilizing a variety of techniques. Makes sure to know organization-wide policy, procedures, and internal experts on confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. ARRT Quality Management Registry preferred; if not carted upon hire, certification is to be obtained within one year of employment. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board of Examiners is required. Bachelors degree is required. Completion of an education program and clinical experience accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required. Minimum of four years experience in a high volume radiology department or experience with quality principles is required. Knowledge of quality improvement tools and quality control procedures; PACS, computers, and radiographic workflow and JC requirements is required. Demonstrated leadership and experience is preferred.
