Job Summary

The Director of Medicare Operations provides management and leadership for Noridian Healthcare Solutions (NHS) which may include Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) operations and non-MAC contract operations. This position develops long range planning, strategies, budgets, quality programs, and expansion opportunities of administrative services to the government. This position may serve as a Key Personnel role of Project Managers as described in a contract's Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Oversees all functions of assigned contract(s)
  • Coaches and mentor's leadership
  • Ensures compliance with contract regulations and communicates with all appropriate entities

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Administers department requirements which includes meeting performance deliverables, staff efficiency, reporting expectations, and service expectations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact to plan, direct, coordinate, and manage the various department(s) functions including administering, modifying, closing out, and terminating contracts..
  • Serves as the key liaison with other NHS leadership or external customers by communicating activities.
  • Justifies and reports contracts financial outcomes monthly.
  • Directs proposal development and bidding, initiates innovative alternatives for contract activity, and negotiates/resolves contract terms and issues as it relates to the assigned department(s).
  • Directs operational activities assuring program benefits and reimbursement administration activities perform within corporate and CMS budgets.
  • Provides organizational structure and procedures to support meeting and/or exceeding productivity, financial, and quality standards and selects, mentors, and measures performance of the senior leadership team.
  • Develops long range plans and strategies for operations and growth of the division.

  • May delegate assignments to direct reporting staff.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years' professional experience of which 5 years are in a managerial or supervisory role related to complex systems and work flow
  • Highly motivated and skilled professional that can assemble, lead, and motivate a team of professionals who are capable of producing and improving results
  • Familiar with contract regulations
  • Strong leader with broad experience leading teams in achieving results and maintaining efficiencies
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration


Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands
  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
  • Travel up to 40%
