JOB SUMMARY

Performs reception, communication, clerical and financial duties. Receives and verifies all department charge batches. Completes daily work with attention to work queues. Prepares miscellaneous deposits. Compiles statistical report for board meetings. Compiles AP invoices daily to be picked up by the currier. Reconciles invoices to monthly statements and sends in for processing. Maintains guarantor accounts for errors in billing. Enters patient billing information daily for ED, IV Therapy, Ambulance, and DOT/Drug Testing charges. Bills Orchard Hills Congregate and Assisted Living as well as Hiawatha Heights residents monthly through Lawson. Completes miscellaneous deposits including commercial, cafeteria money, foot clinic, CPR classes, Direct Access Lab, pharmacy rebates, Sanford Hiawatha Heights deposits and marketing. Works closely with Social Worker in setting up accounts for new Hiawatha Heights residents and maintains important information for all residents. Assists mailroom staff as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Provides direct service to internal or external customers. Sort and file correspondence and perform miscellaneous clerical duties, such as answering correspondence and writing reports. Operates and maintains standard office equipment such as copiers, faxes, phones. Works with a specific financial analysis tool set. Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors. Resolve discrepancies in accounting records. Maintains a strong internal network that promotes informal collaboration.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This position is PRN, and does not have guaranteed hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma. One year technical college training preferred. Five years experience in a hospital setting desired.
