Fernbrook is currently looking for a Full-time Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist or Clinical Trainee on licensure track for LPCC, LMFT, or LICSW. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children between the ages of birth through five and their caregivers.

Fernbrook is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Mental Health Practitioner to provide behavioral/skill-based interventions to young children age’s birth to five and their caregivers by providing skill-building activities (anger management, problem solving, interpersonal skills, etc.) in various settings such as office, day care, school, and in-home/community settings.

As a Mental Health Practitioner in the Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) service program you will learn about how various mental health diagnosis looks like in different age populations, present in individuals, and expand your knowledge in interventions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children between the ages of birth through five and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and provide in day treatment center, day care, and in-home and community based skills training
  • Enable clients to improve basic functioning of daily and community living activities
  • Manage own work schedule with support of supervisors; schedule sessions with client caseload
  • Create & complete individual treatment plans for children in timely manner
  • Create progress notes 24 hours after client appointments
  • Attend & actively engage in individual supervision and all staff county meetings
  • Drive to pick up clients for session involving community activities
  • Create effective working relationships with Fernbrook staff, care givers, and community partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have either one of the following to qualify:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral service field and 2000 hours working with children under 21 years of age with a mental health diagnosis OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral service field and 2000 hours working with children under 21 years of age with a mental health diagnosis OR
    • 6,000 supervised hours working with children under 21 years of age with a mental health diagnosis
  • Must be available to work some evenings per week
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and collaboration skills preferred
  • New Staff Meeting every Monday from 9-10am in Owatonna for first six months of employment
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements
