Audio Technician

This position supports campus audio productions by assisting in the operation and maintenance of a wide variety of installed and portable professional audio systems, along with the planning and implementation of events requiring sound services.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• Two years audio technician degree plus two years related experience OR equivalent education and experience
• Understanding of audio electronics and the physics of sound
• Good understanding of operating professional level sound systems
• Knowledge of design, planning and setup for small and large sound events
• An acute and trained sense of hearing related to both audio frequencies and levels

• Working in a team oriented environment
• Customer service oriented
• Adaptable, flexible and able to perform under deadline pressure
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people
• Ability to learn and train others on the operations of a variety of digital and analog audio consoles, outboard signal gear, amplifiers, recorders and related equipment
• Ability to assist with rigging speaker systems in overhead configurations
