Hiring Department:  UND Aerospace - Flight Support Services

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $17.85+/hr, fulltime, benefitted, non-exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long-term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:    Varied

Position Description
:    A Complete Position Description is available as an attachment in the bottom right corner of this position announcement.

 

  • Perform 50 hr, 100 hr, annual and progressive inspections of aircraft.
  • Research and comply with FAA Airworthiness directives and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, minor and major alterations and repairs.
  • Accurately complete aircraft records, inspection forms and work orders.
  • Determine time life limits for aircraft components.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Competencies:

  • Requires good interpersonal communication skills
  • Requires the ability to move and lift bulky, or heavy objects up to 75lb

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of training at a FAA Part 147 Aviation Meaintanance Technician School. 
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is Required (A&P Certificate)
  • Currency requirements of FAR Part 65.83
  • Valid drivers license
  • Drug and alcohol testing required
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check


In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. 



Prefferred Qualifications:

  • FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School education
  • Piper single and multi-engine, Cessna single engine, and rotary wing experience
  • Experience with FAA 145 Repair Station
  • 2 years of experieince working in general aviation/mechanics.
