JOB SUMMARY
The Benefits Administration Specialist is responsible for supporting the vision, strategy, and objective of the Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE). Conduct benefits administration activities and processes and follow all Human Resource operations policies and procedures to ensure effective client support. Research, analyze, and resolve benefit issues or inquiries escalated by the Employee Service Center. Support Supervisor of Benefits Administration in developing and delivering group benefit overview sessions and maintain all benefit summaries, booklets, and forms. Work with benefit vendors to plan, administer, and resolve coverage and date questions. Provide audit support to ensure accurate enrollments and contributions. Assist with updating benefit policies and SPDs for the enterprise. May conduct survey of Sanford staff when appropriate regarding their benefit decisions and choices. Assist with benefit communications prior, during, and after open enrollment to ensure a smooth process. Advise Employee Service Center employees as needed in handling complex transactions related to benefits. Conduct benefit reviews with potential physicians and APP's during the recruitment process. Assist with new APP orientation. Ability to deliver high quality customer service consistently in a professional manner. Ability to follow strict policy guidelines. Strong customer service focus. Strong interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to handle multiple customer service requests in a timely manner. Effective prioritization, follow-up skills and the ability to escalate issues when necessary. Attention to detail (particularly with entering data). Ability to follow standard operating procedures. General organizational skills as well as a general ability solve problems analytically. Strong communication skills and an ability to deal with ambiguity. Flexibility to accommodate staff scheduling changes, Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Identifies and exploits own strengths; minimizes limitations. Organizes key points and supporting information for a topic as appropriate for the audience. Applies the appropriate taxonomy to add and retrieve knowledge elements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or 1-3 years of equivalent HR experience. General computer skills and ability to use programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, work and Microsoft Outlook.
