JOB SUMMARY

This position will sit in Sioux Falls, Fargo or Bismarck.

Provides leadership in the development and oversight of specific wellness initiatives. Owns the strategy for a variety of wellness initiatives, including intervention programs, public-private partnerships, wellness publications, and wellness education curriculum. Provides virtual and onsite health and wellness education for members and clients based on individual and employer group health and lifestyle risks. Effectively communicates the need for specific interventions based on health status and readiness to change. Assists participants to progress through the development of goals, action plans and relapse-prevention plans in order to meet their lifestyle needs and to motivate them to engage in wellness programming, ensuring maximum participation. Provides an evaluation of the individuals current health status and effectiveness of the strategies and interventions in achieving the proposed outcomes and goals. Regularly evaluates the success of the department's wellness interventions based on participant satisfaction, impact on health and wellness outcomes. Leads the collection, analysis and reporting of programmatic outcomes. Provides insight and suggestions on wellness interventions based on best practice. Displays the ability to schedule a variety of activities, meetings and/or events, often gathering and summarizing data for client and departmental reports. Works with autonomy, takes initiative and leads departmental programs. Possesses independent problem solving in order to analyze issues and create actions plans. Demonstrates ability to facilitate small group discussion alongside the ability to provide large-group public speaking. Exhibits commitment to maintaining confidential notes on interactions with employees and confidentiality with charting details. Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills. Provides ability to interact with clients, agents and departments throughout the organization. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health education practices, behavior change methodologies, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other Federal regulatory guidelines for corporate wellness programs and initiatives. Demonstrates proficiency with web based application searches to keep at the forefront of wellness promotion and initiatives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Recommend or approve new program or service offerings to promote wellness and fitness, produce revenues, or minimize costs. AJ10` Track cost-containment strategies and programs to evaluate effectiveness. Develop marketing campaigns to promote a healthy lifestyle or participation in fitness or wellness programs. Recognizes and assesses problems, opportunites and methods for improving existng business performance. Develops 'best practices' to create, evaluate and enhance customer loyalty that are sought by others within and outside the organization. Artculates potental positve and negatve impacts on the business and community of company actons and practces. Develop, conduct, or coordinate health needs assessments and other public health surveys. Respond to customer, public, or media requests for information about wellness programs or services. Analyzes and prioritizes products and vendors in the marketplace. Works with or leads others to re-prioritize work and reschedule commitments as necessary. Establishes and maintains productve working relatonships within and outside of own area.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS
1) Expand and implement a network of wellness programs, including but not limited to Diabetes Prevention Program and Exercise is Medicine. 2) Consult with businesses to develop and implement best-practice corporate wellness solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in health education, exercise physiologist or other health related field. Will consider a bachelor's degree in public relations, mass communication, psychology or sales with an interest in wellness promotion. Minimum four years experience in health and/or wellness program management required.Certification in Wellness Coaching within one year required. This role classifies as a Sanford Category III Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid drivers license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
