Job Details

Position Summary

Responsible for the provision and monitoring of high quality clinical care and service to residents consistent with regulations and established clinical best practice and monitors work and performance of unlicensed staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain an Environment that Achieves High Quality Care of Residents:
     a. Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care needs with prospective and current residents
     b. Document all pertinent information regarding nursing care, care plans and observations. Oversee and monitor medical record information for completeness and accuracy for residents
     c. Implement and coordinate clinical services with other health professionals internally and externally 
     d. Participate in care conferences
     e. Initiate emergency treatment for residents as needed 
     f. Participate in on-call rotation with other nursing staff to provide support to resident support staff
     g. Follow and maintain infection control procedures
     h. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of resident records and information
     i. Master and utilize electronic documentation software as implemented per campus.
2. Mentor Licensed and Unlicensed Resident Support Staff and Monitor Work and Performance:
     a. Maintain departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures; report any concerns to management
     b. Provide leadership, training and direction of staff through proper communication to maintain standards in compliance with regulations. Create and assign support staff assignments; direct resident care
     c. Assist with training and orientation of new resident support employees
     d. Monitor staff performance and resident relationships. Provide input to Director of Health Services on employee performance and assist with performance reviews as requested
     e. Meet with resident support staff to coordinate resident care and address care issues 
3. Participate in Departmental Operations
     a. Assist with the development of clinical policies, procedures and practices in compliance with standards and regulations
     b. Monitor records to ensure compliance with health, State and Federal regulations
4. Perform related work, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current licensure with the State Board of Nursing in state(s) in which will be practicing
  • One or more years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in health care management, resident and family support systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in nursing, including competency working with the senior population
  • Ability to master and utilize provided electronic documentation software
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, occasional weekends and evenings.
