Job Description: Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

PRACTICE SPECIFICS:
The Nurse Practitioner or utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
This position offers:
Opportunity to be the first NP to work with both the Infectious Disease team and will incorporate some of the Travel Medicine practice as well.
Opportunity to be mentored by section leader who enjoys mentoring and teaching
Collaborative working environment with 2 physicians who welcome the input and perspective of an NP.
Supportive, friendly and engaged team environment
Ideal Candidate:
Will be an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a background in Internal Medicine, Infection Prevention, Infectious Disease or more cerebral specialties.
Anticipated Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
Mornings - Working in Hospital with on-call physician
Afternoons - Seeing patients in the clinic
Full Time position, but willing to discuss the possibility of a reduced schedule of a 0.6 FTE or 0.8 FTE for the right candidate.
Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
EDUCATION:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
- Current certification in CPR. National certification, in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
