Position Summary:

The Senior Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for understanding and following regulatory requirements related to our loan products and for preparing loan documentation for all types of loans. The Senior Loan Documentation Specialist assists the team and our clients by solving complex issues and questions, and by delivering loan documents and disclosures on time. The Senior Loan Documentation Specialist complete system administration and project tasks as needed.



Essential Responsibilities:

Job Function Number 1: Loan Documentation Processing - 50%
  • Produce complete and accurate disclosure and closing documents for new and existing consumer and commercial loans within expected time frames.
  • Order required processing items; interpret and communicate results.
  • Fund loan disbursements by wire.
  • Manage specialized processes including force-placed insurance, escrow processing, compliance reporting.
  • Research requests in order to provide accurate documentation, partnering with team members or supervisor when necessary.
  • Assist internal and external client with complex product/process questions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex client loan issues.
  • Ensure account compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Recognize product exceptions and work with direct supervisor to resolve them.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients by applying excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Support specialized processes as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work with supervisor and underwriting to address non-standard loan requests.
  • Assist with the development and testing of new loan products.
  • Identify and develop solutions and assist with implementation of process enhancements.
  • Identify, understand, and correct underlying cause and effect for issues/problems, as needed.
  • May act as lead on team, lending, or company projects.
  • Identify and provide training to internal clients, as needed.



Job Function Number 2: Team Support - 30%
  • Serve as subject matter expert on systems, processes or regulations.
  • Assist others on the team with troubleshooting when complex problems/issues arise.
  • Help identify training needs, assist supervisor in developing training content, and provide on-on-one or group training to the team.
  • Ensure processes are covered and service levels are met in supervisor's absence.
  • Participate in team meetings and may present projects, system updates, or deliver training as required.
  • Create, update, and maintain written procedures in R&R database.
  • Provide backup coverage on document production and processes, as required.



Job Function Number 3: Department, System, and Industry Knowledge - 20%
  • Demonstrate enhanced knowledge of loan documentation requirements and systems.
  • Demonstrate and maintain enhanced knowledge of loan documentation processes.
  • Develop enhanced knowledge of loan servicing process.
  • Provide system administration support on one or more systems.
  • Enhanced understanding of loan product attributes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all systems & process that pertain to the position.
  • Maintain compliance, legal and policy knowledge required regulations.
  • Complete regulation, compliance, and addition training as assigned.



Position Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or financial industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in loan documentation.
  • Ability to motivate self and other team members.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and basic computer skills.
  • High level of commitment to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet time deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks through effective time management and organizational skills.

Physical Demands: (must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation)
  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
