Position Summary:
The Engineering manager is responsible for planning, directing, and reviewing, the functions and staff within the Engineering Department. Coordinate and review the structural design of flood barriers, safety products, and industrial doors. Continually make design recommendations to improve new products and develop custom product solutions. Ensure that all engineering projects, initiative and processes are planned, implemented and enforced. This will be obtained by bringing an open mind and the ability to collaborate with all interrelated departments.

Essential Job Functions:

* Supervise, mentor, and provide technical support to engineers in training on the design of structural steel and aluminum structures
* Prioritize daily project list based on the needs of the team
* Provide expertise to create cost effective designs that meet the customer needs and ensure product performance
* Coordinate and review the structural analysis of flood barriers, safety products, and industrial doors
* Participate in the design of new and custom products
* Identify and continually improve personal skills through training, performance review, and department meetings
* Continually improve the engineering process by automating calculations and standardizing product designs

Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
* Current Professional Engineer license(s) along with the ability and credentials to further obtain additional jurisdictions
* 4+ years of structural or civil engineering experience
* Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
* An excellent grasp of engineering design principles relating to steel and aluminum structures and connections
* Knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards (ASCE 7, AISC, Aluminum Design Manual)
* Ability to plan, organize, and lead multiple concurrent projects
* Strong problem-solving skills with a dynamic personality and creative approach for generating new ideas
* Ability to communicate specifications and technical knowledge, written and verbally, in a clear and effective manner at all levels

Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of SolidWorks, Enercalc, and Excel computation
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes
* Management role experience
