JOB SUMMARY

Order, dispense, repair and adjust eye wear and contact lenses. Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with the selection of eye wear. Must train to acquire or already competently command entry level optical and retail patient service skills necessary to order, dispense, and execute basic repairs and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions. Register patient demographics, verify and record insurance and benefits, complete eyeglass and contact lens orders, collect and apply patient payments. Arrange and maintain frame inventory and displays. Perform eyeglass adjustments and minor repairs.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Are you an energetic and positive person who loves helping people? Please join the Sanford Eye Department! This position will have a strong focus on contact lens orders. No experience is necessary. We will provide the training you need.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Life Support Certification. High school graduate is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal/human relations and sales skills. Previous experience in optical or contact lens field is preferred. Will provide training and education of required skills.
