HIRING FINANCIAL MANAGER
Reports to: President/CEO

The United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks & Area is a nonprofit organization that provides leadership and funding for the communities' health & human service agencies serving over 70,000 individuals. Our Mission: United to positively transform lives and build stronger, caring communities. The organization fulfills its mission by assessing community needs, raising funds, and allocating resources to reduce the number of people living in poverty in the county of Grand forks, ND and the town of East Grand Forks, MN.

Role:
Responsible for ensuring the development of all financial and accounting programs and procedures; safeguarding United Way's financial and non-financial resources; ensuring the establishment and maintenance of adequate systems of internal accounting controls; ensuring adherence to United Way's financial policies; producing internal and external financial reports; ensuring that information and technology systems are designed, developed and implemented. Providing assistance to other departments with respect to various financial issues.


Qualifications / Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year degree program in accounting. Two to five years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting. Current knowledge of not for profit financial accounting and reporting standards established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Prefer experience in a management capacity. Excellent oral and written communication skills. General understanding of Microsoft Office; (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with Sage (Peachtree) and Blackbaud Raisers Edge - (fundraising software) preferred, not required.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
1. In conjunction with the Present/CEO, Board Treasurer and Governing Board, formulates and implements annual financial strategies in support of United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks & Area's operations and Strategic Plan.
2. Oversees, coordinates with the President/CEO and prepares the annual United Way of Grand Forks, EGF & Area operating budget, including producing financial forecasts.
3. Directs and maintains the daily operations of the Finance/Accounting activities and the systems of internal accounting controls.
4. Monitors adherence to the United Way of Grand Forks, EGF & Area's Board-approved financial policies.
5. Manages and directs the United Way of Grand Forks, EGF & Area's cash flow and investment portfolio in conjunction with the Board Treasurer and banking personnel as necessary.
6. Assists with the completion of special assignments and projects as requested by the President/CEO
