Job Title: Night Crew Manager (Job Code #002299)

Department: Grocery

Reports To: Grocery Manager

PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to assist and learn the Grocery department plans and management responsibilities to promote sales and achieve profit margins and labor goals, in addition to supervising the store night operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assists customers during their shopping experience

• Ensures lines at the register are moving quickly and efficiently

• Greet, Offer, & Thank all customers

• Prompt response to customer concerns

• Ability to perform duties of night clerks & cashiers

• Recording and reporting customer requests

• Ability to show customers where products are located

Functional Requirement:

• Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (intercom, telephone, scanner, register, scale)

• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, & math

Maintaining a neat and organized store appearance

• Facing forward product in the aisles and displays

• Ensures aisles are clear of debris at all times

• Cleaning shelves and racking as needed

• Compacts cardboard, stacks pallets, stores and organizes overstock

• Ensuring a safe and clean shopping environment during inclement weather

Functional Requirement:

• Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (cardboard baler, garbage compactor, box cutter, pallet jack, shopping cart, ladder)

• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, & math

Daily supervision of store policies and procedures

• Develop effective daily/weekly work plans

• Adherence to Hornbacher's Food Safety Practices

• Utilize sales projections, budgeted labor goals, & previous operating results to optimize store performance

• Supervising, ordering, scheduling, and being responsible for the overall condition of the department

• Provide training and development opportunities for Night Crew team

• Oversee store operations at night

• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, & math, analyzing and planning, basic business acumen, and attention to detail

Experience

• 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred

• Retail experience preferred

*Must be able to work a variety of shifts; including overnight, weekends, & holidays.
