Hiring Department:       Admissions   (The department is currently recruiting for two vacant positions.)


Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $30,000 plus/year, Benefitted, Non-Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage, basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM; may require some nights and weekends.

The Admissions Information Specialist is responsible for the conversion of submitted applications to completed. The Admissions specialist is tasked with creating new student files, entering application data, imaging files and corresponding with applicants. In addition, the Admissions specialist completes a review of admission requirements and credentials for academic preparedness, obtaining transcripts and test scores as appropriate.
 
Extreme attention to detail and accuracy is essential for this position. This individual must be a problem solver and able to recognize issues that require elevation to their supervisor.


Duties include:
 

  • Processing admission applications for admission to the University of North Dakota.
  • Admission of new students to the University of North Dakota
  • Provide superior customer service and communication
  • Supervise part time and student employees
  • Work as a team member to promote the success of the Office of Admissions and the University as a whole
  • Will perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.


Required Competencies:
 

  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Data entry experience 
  • Experience with standard office equipment including computer, calculator, printer, photocopier
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience with PeopleSoft 
  • Experience with imaging system such as Perceptive Content
  • Microsoft Office experience
