Description

We are currently looking for a Director of Outpatient Therapy Services be part of CaringEdge, a program within Edgewood Healthcare. This position is responsible for ensuring that patient rehabilitative care is coordinated and managed appropriately.  This position is responsible for ensuring that therapy services are delivered appropriately, documentation of therapy services meets all requirements as well as the supervision of therapy professionals.  

Responsibilities:
  • Develops physical therapy organizational strategies by contributing information analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Establishes physical therapy operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and patient-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
  • Provides physical therapy services by evaluating patient care protocols; measuring outcomes; researching and evaluating emerging trends.
  • Assures physical therapy quality services by establishing and maintaining departmental quality assurance program including monitoring of quality indicators, documenting actions taken to resolve problems
  • Reviews and evaluates each case by reviewing the services provided by the therapists, including case conferences and documentation review, discusses and verifies impressions, instructs and guides therapists to promote more effective performance and delivery of quality home care services, and is available at all times during operating hours to assist therapists as appropriate.
  • Trains physical therapy staff on operational systems, documentation, charges, and therapy skills as needed.
  • Assists therapists in establishing immediate and long-term rehabilitation goals, in setting priorities, and in developing plan of care.
  • Assists therapists in overseeing assignment and supervision of therapy assistants.
  • Attends case conference meetings with organization personnel to facilitate coordination of care.
  • Conducts quarterly record reviews and communicates findings and recommendations to Clinical Director and appropriate organization personnel.
  • Completes on-site supervisory visits as necessary.
  • Maintain accountability for therapy staff productivity, utilization and documentation standards.


Minimum Requirements

  • Current state license as a Physical or Occupational therapist or Speech/Language Pathologist.
  • Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
  • Two years management or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation therapy department or program, preferably outpatient therapy.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Complies and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with organization requirements.
  • Demonstrates excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
