Journeyman/Apprentice Line Worker
Minnkota Power is seeking applicants for a Journeyman/Apprentice Line Worker responsible for:
  • Maintains and repairs high voltage electric transmission lines of 41.6 to 345 KVAC and 500 KVDC.
  • Climbs poles to repair conductors and replace cross arms, insulators, poles or auxiliary equipment.
  • May erect transmission lines.
  • Utilizes precautionary work methods and safety equipment when working on or near energized or de-energized conductors.
  • May operate from aerial devices to accomplish these tasks.
  • Operates mobile equipment and trucks as is required.
  • May work nights or weekends as necessary.
  • Overnight travel from home base is required.
  • Complies with all applicable safe work practices and rules set forth by company, state and federal regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
Individual must have completed 1 year of lineman's school at an accredited vocational technical school or have equivalent experience. Must have or is able to obtain and maintain a Class A drivers license. Must be able to work in all types of weather, especially in emergencies with inclement weather. Must be able to work at heights from a bucket truck or by climbing poles.
