Who We're Looking For:

Are you a tech-savvy go-getter with a passion for formulating and defining objectives and system scope? Do you have at least 5 years of experience reading existing code, testing it to make improvements, and developing and writing new programs? We are looking for this role to join our staff in one of the following locations: Minnesota: Plymouth, Duluth, Bemidji; North Dakota: Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, Minot, Williston; Iowa: Des Moines, Cedar Rapids

What You'll Take Ownership Of:

The Senior Business Programmer will enhance our existing ERP application (S2K), as well as develop new applications to augment our primary system by:
  • Developing, testing, implementing, and documenting changes of programs and applications
  • Developing and testing code
  • Enhancing and testing existing applications
  • Working with integration of disparate systems
  • Developing technical documentation
  • Analyzing programming applications to detect, diagnose, and correct problems using RPG (Report Program Generator) programming language
  • Maintain existing Power i applications and develop new applications from user specifications
  • Completing assigned programming implementation with high quality and on schedule
  • Assisting other RPG Programmers with questions and issues
  • Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies
  • Creating and presenting necessary improvements of ERP system
  • Being a part of the end-user support team
  • Working with other departments within the company on software enhancements and improvements
  • Rolling with the punches when other related opportunities are assigned

Need-To-Haves:
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Systems or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • 5+ year of RPG related programming experience
  • Experience with SQL, MSQuery, HTML, RPGILE, CLLE, XML, JSON, API, ERP systems
  • Ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), which are a vital component to this position
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team

Skills and Experience Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems or a related field
  • Experience working with S2K ERP system

*This position will be based out of any Acme Tools location in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. At least two weeks of training out of our corporate office in Grand Forks, ND are required at the start of this position. Employment offers are contingent on drug-screen and background check.
