JOB SUMMARY

Transports multiple items that may include any of the following: medical records, lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical supplies, x-rays, correspondence, freight, and miscellaneous items to ensure efficient flow of information and materials throughout various Sanford or other locations as required. This position may have access to medications and/or specimens for purposes of distributing.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver and pick up medical records, lab specimens, and medications to and from hospitals and other medical facilities. Deliver messages and items, such as newspapers, documents, and packages, between establishment departments, and to other establishments and private homes. Load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods. Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods. Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person. Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages. Sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route. Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes. Unload goods from large trucks, and load them onto smaller delivery vehicles. Walk, ride bicycles, drive vehicles, or use public conveyances to reach destinations to deliver messages or materials.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Currently, this is a part-time, 40hr every two weeks, position. The hours will be 8:00am-12:00pm Monday through Friday but are subject to change based on the needs of the department. These hours will cover several locations including the new Sanford Clinic located at 32nd & Ellis with interoffice mail, filling and ordering of supplies for multiple supply rooms, pharmacy, and more. A van and/or small box truck maybe needed to transport, at times, large volumes of supplies. The right candidate will be organized, detail oriented, and accepts change as it happens.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current valid drivers license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. High School graduate or GED is preferred. Must be able to follow both structured and flexible delivery schedule. Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
