Summary: The primary function of this position is to create and maintain an effective and efficient team environment while being responsible for short and long term personnel, production and capacity planning in addition to developing and supporting continuous improvements for cost reduction and processes. This position is accountable for raw manufacturing and packaging processes and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Ensure departments maintain a high level of product quality and accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness. Create and monitor policies that support the accurate completion of all work orders, Master Manufacturing Records (MMR) and cGMP paperwork.
  • Monitor and measure daily back orders. Develop processes to forecast and minimize out of stock and multi ship situations.
  • Plan for, set and achieve departments and company goals. Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and initiative to lead and maintain an effective and efficient team.
  • Lead and direct all department personnel in order to meet company goals. Monitor and adapt processes in order to maintain a high level of job satisfaction throughout the department.
  • Ensure compliance to and operator training of cGMP policies and procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling and completion of workflow for the department on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Work with reports and programs designed to direct workflow of the department. Work with other departments including purchasing, receiving, and shipping to control backorders.
  • Ensure profitability analysis is performed on a regular basis to ensure in house processes and products are providing acceptable margins.
  • Develop and maintain data management systems and forecasting methods and tools.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets. Define department headcount and operating requirements. Plan for, propose and execute capital expenditure and other growth opportunity projects that can improve customer experience or cost controls.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.


  • Marginal Duties:
  • Oversee training and cross training of all employees. Set up and oversee all training procedures to ensure safe proper operation of all equipment.


  • Competencies Required:
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Previous manufacturing and leadership experience
    • Mechanical background preferred
    • Teambuilding experience preferred
    • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals


    Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise employee(s); is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and Experience Required: Bachelor Degree in Management, Engineering or Operations required and a minimum of 5 years experience in management of operations. Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
