Job Summary

The Contracts Coordinator provides a central point of expertise and accountability for the Contract Administration department regarding the contract review process, acts as a liaison between internal departments and the NHS Legal Department, and is responsible for tracking contract documents. This position provides support to NHS Legal, performs research as assigned, and assists with contract preparation applying contract and administrative knowledge and experience.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Oversees and coordinates the internal contract review process related to the origination, process flow and execution of contracts, agreements, and similar documents.
  • Assists with drafting and reviewing prior to attorney review.
  • Maintains contract repository and related files in the document management system in compliance with the record retention schedule.
  • Ensures appropriate access to documents.
  • Assigns renewal status and manages renewal workflow.
  • Performs research and provides support to internal attorneys regarding contract issues as requested.
  • Provides support and gathers and organizes internal facts and documentation including responses to requests for production of documents, interrogatories, and other formal requests.
  • Produces reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.

  • Performs special projects affiliated with contract administration or legal.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or related field (no equivalent experience accepted)
  • 3 years' legal assistant, paralegal, contract administration, or related experience
  • Basic legal expertise
  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate formal written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • 5 years' experience performing work as a legal assistant, paralegal, contract administration, or related field
  • 2 years' Medicare experience
  • Experience in government contracting
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone usage
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
