JOB SUMMARY

The Custodial individual is responsible for keeping the buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Individuals will complete the following duties; emptying waste baskets of trash, medical waste, recyclables and transport along with any other trash and waste to the proper disposal areas. The custodial individual will complete housekeeping duties such as but not limited to operating various machines to clean carpets, floors, upholstery, linen transportation, etc. This individual will also respond to work orders involving furniture, rugs, etc. The individual working with Hard Floors will be responsible for sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Hard Floor individuals will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of hard flooring throughout the hospital and regional clinics. Other duties as assigned. Physical activities include but not limited to will require considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Explains own role and responsibility within team. Identifies the procedures for making sure that results are mistake-free. Completes current work according to assigned priorities. Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Adapts easily to changing work demands. Summarizes topics generally covered in safety and injury prevention. Identifies own key assignments, schedules, and process steps. Adapts interaction style to situations and people. Focuses activities on developing and maintaining positive customer relationships. Implements routine spill containment, decontamination and disposal procedures when necessary. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
