Job Details
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for directing the development and implementation of a comprehensive program to measure and enhance the institutional effectiveness of the college through leadership and management of the Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning department. The position provides leadership and implementation of an assessment plan covering the establishment of outcomes, the methods of assessment, the interpretation and analysis of the results leading to informed decision-making. In conjunction with the VPAA, the position provides day-to-day leadership of institutional accreditation, programmatic accreditation, and the development a campus system for strategic planning.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in education, behavioral or social science, public policy, or related discipline with research experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience developing, revising and/or administering assessment programs (especially of student learning outcomes) or institutional effectiveness programs.
- Thorough knowledge of academic programs and learning environments.
- Ability to work independently to design, and manage complex projects and analyze, interpret, and display institutional assessment data.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and documents.
- Budgeting, supervising, and management experience.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to speak well and present a favorable image of the college to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to consistently work effectively and collegially with diverse groups from across campus and the community.
- Ability to effectively use relevant technology in the performance of the duties and responsibilities of the position (i.e., Microsoft Office—Word, Excel, Internet, email, electronic calendar (Outlook), etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned doctorate in an academic or administrative field.
- Extensive higher education experience.
- Knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Experience in institutional accreditation, especially through the Higher Learning Commission.
- More than 3 years of directly related experience.
