JOB GOAL: To assist in the education of STRIVE students, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.

1. Demonstrate sensitivity to the individual needs of at risk students.

2. Assist with student's accomplishment of specific academic tasks.

3. Assist with management of student's behaviors through consistent enforcement of established classroom/program/school rules.

4. Implement classroom carry-over activities as prescribed through the direct supervisor.

5. Supervise and assist students, as needed, in other school environments such as classrooms, hallway, gym, lunchroom, auditorium, LMC, labs, restroom, etc.

6. Provide first aid, if necessary.

7. Record student's academic /attendance/ behavioral progress.

8. Participate in conferences and meetings as assigned.

9. Prepare learning materials and bulletin board displays.

10. Provide routine room maintenance (e.g. put away materials, organize learning areas, etc.).

11. Maintain student confidentiality.

12. Communicates with parents regarding student absences.

13. Assists with maintenance of large program budget.

14. Assists with coordination and implementation of STRIVE- community mentorship program.

15. Assists with coordination and implementation of community experiences (field trips, community service, cultural events).

16. Supervises STRIVE classrooms and adjacent areas before and after school.

17. Assists/tutors individual students after school.

18. Maintains STRIVE program library.

19. Assists with monitoring of student academic and behavioral progress in regular education classes.

20. Assists with the implementation and maintenance of Individual Learning Plans.

21. Assists with the maintenance of student records, contracts, progress reports.

22. Purchase supplies from local businesses.

23. Assist coordinator with written and electronic communications with community partners, resources, agencies.

24. Communicates with all stakeholders effectively and in a timely manner using oral, written, and technological means.

25. Perform other tasks as assigned by the teacher/principal.

26. Attends work regularly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing and occasionally requires pushing, pulling, lifting, and operating machines; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school office/ classroom/passageways). REPORTS TO: Building Principal

Qualifications: 1. Experience working with students in varying capacities. 2. Basic Computer Skills.
