Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $60,000+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefitted, Exempt

Work ScheduleMonday- Friday, 8:00 - 4:30 pm

Investigate complaints of harassment, discrimination and sexual and gender-based misconduct

  • Receive complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual and gender-based misconduct, and retaliation
  • Identify university policies relevant to a complaint
  • Conduct a prompt, equitable and impartial investigation of complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual and gender-based misconduct, and retaliation, including identifying and interviewing parties; identifying, gathering and assessing relevant information; and assessing credibility of witnesses and information
  • Maintain thoroughly documented investigative files
  • Prepare thorough and accurate investigative reports
  • Serve as point of contact for parties during investigative process
  • Attend conduct hearings or other proceedings, as appropriate
  • Continuously identify and integrate best practices into investigative processes
  • Remain informed on guidance, laws and regulations affecting the University’s compliance with Title IX and applicable civil rights laws

Assist Director in providing leadership to University on civil rights and Title IX matters

  • Provide consultation and information regarding Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and other federal and state law and university policy requirements to campus stakeholders
  • Assist in the development and updating of policies, programs, practices and resources needed to foster a safe and inclusive community for all students, faculty, and staff
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and students
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to foster a safe and inclusive environment

Provide education and outreach

  • Create and facilitate educational programs, training, and development opportunities to members of the University community in the areas of harassment/discrimination and sexual violence prevention
  • Provide information to faculty, staff, and students regarding the university policies prohibiting harassment, discrimination, and sexual and gender-based misconduct
  • Serve on committees or attend meetings related to campus efforts to prevent and respond to harassment, discrimination and sexual and gender-based misconduct

Minimum Requirements
:  

  • Master's degree in higher education, human resources or related field
  • Two years of relevant experience in the area of investigations, student conduct, or employment discrimination
  • Experience working with civil rights laws such as Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
  • Experience working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check



In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. 



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Experience conducting Title IX investigations
  • Experience conducting civil rights/equity investigations in higher education
  • Experience in conflict resolution
