Job Information

The Strategic Operations Manager is responsible for implementing the materials strategy across the PCAs and affected business units within the Bismarck facility by utilizing the appropriate resources to achieve Company goals and world class manufacturing operations.

Role & Responsibility

Staff Management / Employee Development & Growth
  • Develop and mentor team members.
  • Direct and assist subordinates in establishing and maintaining safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
  • 2G strategy implementation.

Financial Oversight
  • Competitive product costs.
  • Building profitability/return on assets.
  • Manage and maintain investments in building and equipment.
  • Managing Engineering Change Notices and inventory levels as required.

Leadership
  • Positive, constructive interaction of the assigned production area(s) with entire site and other North American locations.
  • Ensuring all pre-determined KPI’s are met by involving necessary stakeholders.
  • Recognition as good corporate citizens of the states/communities where we operate.

Achieve Company Goals
  • Direct responsibility for interpreting sales and production forecasts into terms of labor, material, and equipment.
  • Lead in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, organization, standards, specifications, methods, policies, systems or procedures to maintain and improve operating efficiency and product quality


Job Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Manager, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • 10+ years experience in operations, supervision, and people development.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory flow and technology.
  • Managing People.

  • Requires the ability to think strategically about how to improve the business service and manage the tactical steps necessary to execute the plan.
  • Able to train and mentor team.
  • Ability to drive productivity & operational excellence.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and decision making skills.
  • Leading a team along with being able to put together vision that is in alignment with site objectives.
  • Less than 10% travel required.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
