Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will coordinate the recruitment process with hiring managers & HR generalists, ensuring an efficient and effective process with regard to identified business needs and goals. Under the direction of the Employee Relations Manager, this position will leverage Alerus as an employer of choice in all markets to attract qualified professionals to our employee-oriented, high performance culture. This position will participate in various projects and events throughout the company as necessary.



Essential Responsibilities:

Job Function Number 1: Recruitment (50%)
  • Recruits passive and active applicants for open positions; proactively builds a pipeline in anticipation of future hiring needs.
  • Maintains an active social media presence on networking and career sites, coordinating with internal marketing department where applicable. i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Glassdoor, Indeed.
  • Corresponds with applicants regarding current and future employment opportunities.
  • Submits job opportunities into recruiting system for management review & approval.
  • Completes the job opportunity posting process using strategic internal & external resources.
  • Reviews and screens applications, recommending qualified internal and external applications to the appropriate hiring manager for interview selection.
  • Collaborates daily with HR generalist team to develop and share solutions for solving recruiting challenges.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with university and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants; actively promoting Alerus as an employer of choice.
  • Schedules and attends job/career fairs with appropriate staff as a source of generating qualified applicants.



Job Function Number 2: Interviewing & Onboarding (40%)
  • Coordinates interviews with HR generalists, hiring managers, senior managers and other strategic business partners as required.
  • Provides back-up to HR generalist in screening applicants during interviewing process to determine technical, positional, and culture fit.
  • Provides timely updates to candidates throughout the application, interview, and selection process.
  • Responsible for the collection and retention of interview feedback and evaluation forms from interviewers.
  • Manages employment-related testing including credit, criminal background, pre-employment drug screening with prospective hires.
  • Dispositions candidates as status' change throughout the recruiting process.
  • Assists in drafting offer letters; ensures collection of executed acceptance letters, incentive agreements, and other employment agreements when applicable.
  • Organizes and executes the employee onboarding process including communicating employee set-up needs to internal partners, scheduling orientation, and confirming training calendar.



Job Function Number 3: General HR company & team support (10%)
  • Supports and communicates company fundamental beliefs, mission, vision and culture.
  • Networks with and builds relationships with other human resource professionals in communities the company serves.
  • Participates as a HR project resource, as assigned.
  • Assists in coordinating employee functions, such as all-employee meetings and appreciation events, both on and off-site.
  • Coordinates and supports market specific community involvement activities.



Position Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in human resources, related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training that equips individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all job functions.
  • Minimum of 1 year HR experience required, with preference given to recruiting and staffing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) required, preferably UltiPro.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in state and federal laws impacting HR, specifically applicant screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned market on an infrequent basis, and as needed periodically to other market locations; less than 10% travel.

Physical Demands: (must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation)
  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
