JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care. Responsible for the planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to legal regulatons and organizatonal policies when discussing patent health informaton Coordinates and manages care for patents, including those with complex needs. Delivers writen and oral communicatons that engage audience partcipants, respond to their questons and concerns, and produce specifc outcomes and impact. Efectvely delegates and supervises based on ones state practce act and an understanding of the concepts of responsibility, authority, and accountability. Establishes and maintains productve working relatonships within and outside of own area. Ofers efectve feedback to patent and family members regarding health. Performs age related patent assessments and nursing interventons. Responsible for promotng a safe environment for patents, families, staf, residents, and visitors and working collaboratvely with the mult-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practce of nursing is occurring and/or possessmultstate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specifccompetencies and certfcatons. Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Associaton of Colleges of Nursing(AACN), Accreditaton Commission for Educaton in Nursing (ACEN), and Natonal League for Nursing Commission for Nursing EducatonAccreditaton (NLN CNEA). Bachelors Degree in nursing preferred.
